We would like to let all those who are concerned about potential flooding issues with our proposed planning application.

There are 2 parts to this.

1) the rainwater/surface water. At the moment there is no way of controlling the rainwater on the site and therefore it simply runs straight into the ground or into the highway drains. We are proposing 2 betterments to this situation with the project. This includes new underground storage tanks for the rainwater and a flow rate control via a hydrobrake into the existing system and new pipework in the highways to bypass the existing collapsed a broken drains in the main road.

2) the foul water. The foul drainage flows from commercial developments is relatively low when compared to flows from residential developments. Severn Trent would or should have undertaken capacity checks for this scheme and decide whether in fact there is enough capacity already or if not will have to ensure the capacity is there if we need it.

Please see below that Severn Trent and the Lead Local Flood Authority have not objected to this proposal. You will also see our Consultants response.
