Jake Lloyd has been promoted to Associate here at Taylor Lewis – a promotion that reflects everything he has put into the last 5 years. Just in the last year he has worked with LiveWest and Wain Homes on a multi-scheme purchase supporting them to deliver 34 units across 4 sites, Plymouth Community Homes and Bloor Homes in Ivybridge where he helped them to deliver 24 units, and many more projects across the business. Congratulations to Jake on his well-deserved promotion.

We were delighted to welcome Rob Bennett into our offices today to talk about our support of The Lighthouse Charity as our Charity of the Year.

The Lighthouse Charity does incredible work providing emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing support to people and families across the construction industry. Their work makes a real difference to those facing hardship in times of need, and we are honoured to help raise awareness and funds for such an important cause.

If you looked inside one of our surveyor’s bags, you would probably see:
A CSCS Card
An Identification Card
Stickers
A socket tester
A screwdriver for water meters
A tape measure.
A laser measure
A notebook full of scribbled dimensions.
A tablet loaded with drawings
And yes - emergency snacks!
What you wouldn’t immediately see is what it took to get here.

Walking onto site as a woman in construction still turns heads. Sometimes you’re assumed to be the admin. Sometimes the architect. Rarely the surveyor.
But every time our female colleagues show up - prepared, knowledgeable, confident - we quietly shift perceptions.
Women in construction aren’t a “trend.”
They are Project Managers. Surveyors. Engineers. Directors. Decision-makers.
And every bag holds more than tools.
It carries experience, resilience, and ambition.
The industry is evolving and we are part of that blueprint.
