The Polly Joke poppies won't be around much longer.
Every June, a clifftop field on the West Pentire headland above Porth Joke turns into a carpet of red, with Crantock beach and the Atlantic behind them. By early July the flowers are usually fading. This weekend might be your last chance to catch them at their best.
It's about 45 minutes from Trewena. Porth Joke beach is five minutes below the field, the Bowgie Inn is right there for lunch, and Holywell Bay is a short walk north along the coast.
