THE PANDORA INN, Restronguet Creek, Mylor Bridge, TR11 5ST. 6 miles from the cottage.

When you visit the Pandora, it’s easy to forget you’re in the 21st century. Its spectacular setting on the edge of Restronguet Creek is timeless. Parts of the Inn date back to the 13th Century and, with its flagstone floors, low-beamed ceilings and thatched roof it’s not difficult to believe that little has changed since that time.
Dining at the Pandora is a real treat, with carefully selected ingredients sourced from Cornish farmers and fishermen, food is cooked to order and served throughout the day from 12 noon until 9pm. Sunday's menu features a traditional roast among other seasonal dishes.
The fabulous pontoon offers plenty of outdoor space for al fresco dining right on the water!

There is a Car park dedicated to the Pandora Inn however it is very popular and recommend getting there early. There is a circular walk and information on the website.

LAMORRAN HOUSE GARDENS. Upper Castle Rd, St Mawes, Cornwall TR2 5BZ. 16 miles from the cottage via the King Harry Ferry (see separate post).
The garden is open 3 days per week - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 5pm, last admission 4pm. End of season Friday 26 September 2025.

Lamorran is a subtropical, Italianate inspired garden on Cornwall's beautiful Roseland peninsula.

A garden of many levels, is situated on a south facing slope, and surrounded on three sides by the benign influence of the warming sea. St Anthony’s headland sits across the water, creating a protected inlet to St Mawes and the river beyond.

These unique conditions mean that the garden remains frost free in all but the most serious of winters; the last recorded frost being in 1987. A wide range of plants from all over the world is therefore able to be grown, resulting in something of a plantsperson’s paradise. An extensive, eclectic and unusual range of plants can be found, with particular emphasis on southern hemisphere and sub-tropical flora.

MINE RESTAURANT, 4 The Old Brewery Yard, Falmouth, TR112BY.
3 miles from the cottage.

In early 2020 Mine set out to create their idea of the best neighbourhood restaurant. A warm space that feels like being at a dinner party, tables chatting to one another, piled in, everyone welcome.
They found that place in the Old Brewery Yard, nestled in next to two lively bars with tables spilling out over the cobbles in the summer months. Serving simple food made with the best Cornish ingredients.
On the ever-rotating menu you’ll find familiar British classics with just a little bit of decadence.

Included in the 2024 Michelin Guide, here is what they had to say;
"It’s a cosy, welcoming place, where the informality contributes to a light buzz among the contented diners. An open kitchen allows for a good view of the classic, well-crafted cooking, which takes the form of a concise, regularly changing à la carte which relies on local produce. You'd do well to start with the fabulous crab fritter and end with the honey cake.”
