Filey Steampunk Weekend 2026: A Spectacle by the Sea.

Filey is preparing once again to transform into a whirlwind of cogs, creativity, and Victorian‑inspired imagination as the Filey Steampunk Weekend returns from 16th–17th May 2026. With crowds growing year after year, the weekend has become a much‑loved highlight on the Yorkshire events calendar — and this year promises to be the biggest and boldest yet.

This free, family‑friendly event invites visitors of all ages to step into a world where past meets future: brass goggles shining in the sun, airships drifting through artwork and imagination, and the seafront alive with colour, costume, and character. Whether you're a seasoned steampunk enthusiast or a curious newcomer, Filey offers the perfect coastal backdrop for a weekend of wonder.

A Town Brought to Life.
Across the weekend, Filey’s seafront and town centre will be bustling with activity. Expect:

Live Music & Street Entertainment.
Musicians, performers, and entertainers will fill the promenade and streets with the unmistakable energy of steampunk theatre. From fire breathers to storytellers, surprises will be waiting around every corner.

Strong-Man Competition & Tug-O-War.
A two‑day strong‑man event and open tug‑o‑war contest invite locals and visitors alike to get involved. These lively competitions are open to all and guaranteed to draw a crowd.

The Steampunk Marketplace.
Unique traders from around the country will descend on Filey, selling handcrafted creations, curiosities, jewellery, accessories, gadgets, artworks, and one‑of‑a‑kind collectibles. Inside trader spaces are almost full, with outdoor pitches still available — but not for long! Traders who have already expressed interest are encouraged to secure their spot by 16th April 2026. Tanks on the Beach.
A Returning Spectacle. One of the standout features of this year’s programme is the return of Tank Rides on the Beach, delivered by the impressive team at SWB Experience Days.
Visitors can enjoy rides in a real military vehicle along the sands of Filey Beach:
Price: £10 per person
Booking: No booking required — simply turn up
Location: Bottom of Cargate Hill
Dates & Times:
Saturday 16th May: approx. 9am–1.30pm
Sunday 17th May: approx. 9am–2.30pm

New staircase carpet, landing and bathroom floor being installed 🎉😂

The villa truly is becoming a property and bizarrely we have this weekend free in case anyone needs a gift/idea

A busy few days but never one to miss an opportunity a visit to Sea View Villa V-Dubz Filey to get .

We decided to bring in some more chairs and cushions, as you’ll see by the pictures.
We’re in the throws of 3 back to back ‘s because truly this house was built to bring for those

And what we understand from our own family is not ever one loves a high bar stool 🫣😂. So, I think we counted 15 chairs now out by the decking area alone - which hopefully makes you realise the true this provides.

And an opportunity to add a bit of fun, we’ve replaced our lights on our bar area and added a or two 🕺🪩

Think it’s always good to get recommendations and today The Star Filey didn’t disappoint. A firm favourite with our Sea View Villa V-Dubz Filey guests. It’s a good walk there and back from the villa or has ample parking to the rear
