Are you thinking a move to the coast might be for you?
Well, welcome to Folkestone 🌊
Here are 4 reasons why our burgeoning town could be the place for you:
1. It’s a creative hub! 🎨
Think Brighton but… Undiscovered. Folkestone's thriving Creative Quarter is home to a host of independent boutiques, artists' studios, co-working spaces and creative businesses! It was developed by the Creative Foundation (a charity launched in 2002 to regenerate Folkestone through creativity) and is constantly attracting new creative talent.
2. The culture 🎟
If you love culture, Folkestone is for you; speakeasy bars, art galleries, fishing museums, the vintage Silver Screen Cinema… The list goes on! We're also host to Europe's largest outdoor art exhibition, celebrated at the 3-yearly Folkestone Triennial Festival, which is in full swing until November this year (so come down and have a wander!).
3. The food 🥂
Not only does Folkestone have dozens of independent food businesses, including the businesses along the Harbour Arm, it also has Kent Food Hub, a weekly locally-sourced food market, plentiful zero waste shops and expertly-crafted homemade food from the L&B family of popular restaurants and the renowned Rocksalt family, known for its Michelin star, which overlooks the horizon at the harbour.
4. The travel connections 🚆
You can get from Folkestone Central Station to St Pancras International in under an hour on the train. If that wasn’t enough, it’s just a short distance to neighbouring Hythe, Canterbury and Margate for day trips!
Our development of the Royal Victoria Hospital is in the true heart of Folkestone, featuring new apartments that will be available from October. There has been lots of interest so far, so get in touch to get more info now.
