Kingairloch Estate Cosy self-catering, pet friendly cottages in the Highlands. Open all year round. The holiday cottages are all unique, stand alone and have stunning views.

A number have loch views and all have mountainous vistas. Each of the 10 properties are open throughout the whole year with weekly stays and short breaks offered, pets are also welcome. The estate is home to a diverse range of wildlife from red deer, pine martins, otters, eagles, seals and much more. Guests often have sightings of these species from the comfort of their holiday cottage or when out exploring the estate on the series of purpose built footpaths.

The days are getting shorter, there’s a cooler feel to the mornings and the first autumn colours are starting to appear across the estate.
Each season brings something different to Kingairloch, and there’s something particularly special about these weeks of change, as summer slowly gives way to autumn and the landscape settles into a new season. 🍂

The autumn equinox has passed, and there’s a definite change in the air at Kingairloch 🍂

The days are getting shorter, the mornings a little cooler and the colours across the estate are beginning to turn. Out on the hill, the stags are becoming more vocal, and across the estate work continues as we prepare to head into the colder months.

It’s a lovely time of year here. It’s a little quieter, a little slower, with autumn settling into the glen and along the shores of Loch a’ Choire.

The season has well and truly changed. 🍂

🌿 Wildlife at Kingairloch 🌿

Buzzards are a familiar sight here at Kingairloch. Often seen circling quietly above the hills, perched along the roadside or watching over the fields, they’re very much part of the landscape.

They also have an important job to do. Feeding on small mammals and carrion, buzzards help to keep a natural balance across the estate and are an important part of the wider ecosystem.

It’s easy to get used to seeing them, but there’s still something special about looking up and spotting one soaring overhead.

Another small part of what makes Kingairloch such a wonderful place for wildlife. 🌿🪶

🐝🌿 News from the Walled Garden🍯🌸

The bees have certainly been busy in the walled garden this summer, making the most of everything that’s been in flower.

As well as producing our honey, they play an important part in the garden, pollinating the fruit, vegetables and flowers as they go. They may be small but are an incredibly important part of the walled garden ecosystem, working quietly alongside us and playing their part in everything we harvest.

After a busy summer, we’re now enjoying the results with our own Kingairloch honey.

We’ll have a limited number of jars available to buy from the Boathouse later this week 🍯🐝
