Amelio Trio opens West Wight Arts Association’s 80th anniversary season.

West Wight Arts Association opens its 2026/27 80th-anniversary season on Saturday, 12 September 2026, with the Amelio Trio, an award-winning young piano trio from Germany, making its Freshwater debut. The concert takes place at Freshwater Memorial Hall and begins at 7.00 pm.

Already winners of numerous prizes, the Amelio Trio has been selected as one of the European Concert Hall Organisation’s ‘Rising Stars’ for 2026/27, an accolade for exceptional emerging performers. The three musicians have played together since 2012, when they first met as teenagers.

The programme brings together classic piano trios by Haydn, Schumann and Brahms, alongside the Piano Trio No. 1 by leading contemporary composer Lera Auerbach.

The Cowes to Torquay powerboat race starts at 10:00 today. They pass through Hurst point so you should get some fantastic views from Linstone Chine.
Get your breaky down because you don't want to miss them. There is also the Cowes to Poole category which sets off at 10:15 so the smaller ones should come through a little later. I estimate it will take them less than 10mims to get from Cowes to Hurst.
