There is plenty of stunning nature surrounding Fulbourn: Fulbourn Fen, Fleam D**e - and the beautiful Wandlebury Country Park pictured here.

The park is located on the Gog Magog Hills and is a wonderful country estate with miles of trails through woodland and wildflower meadows. There's something for everyone at Wandlebury - wildlife, picnicing, or simply taking in the scenery - with a pop-up cafe to keep you going.

A brand new cycling route is coming to Fulbourn - a stone's throw from The Pumphouse! The Fulbourn Greenway - one of 12 Greater Cambridge Greenways - will be an active travel route to make it easier for walkers, cyclists and horse riders to travel from Fulbourn into Cambridge in a sustainable way.

The trail will also link with the Chisolm Trail.

The Pumphouse is just 4 miles from historic Cambridge and what better way to spend an afternoon in Cambridge than punting on the river Cam!

The Bridge of Sighs, shown here, is a Grade 1 listed structure that connects St John's College buildings - one of the 31 colleges that make up Cambridge University. Named after its namesake in Venice (purely because it's an arched, covered bridge), it's said to have been Queen Victoria's favourite Cambridge spot.

One for horticulturists 🌳

Along with most Cambridge colleges The Pumphouse has its very own Medlar tree.
Mentioned by Shakespeare, Chaucer and D H Laurence, the term “open-ers” refers to the fruit of the medlar tree, which resembles a “small, brown-skinned apple.”

Most University of Cambridge colleges have one from many years ago and Kettle's Yard art gallery in Cambridge has two from which they make jelly. These trees are gnarled and bare in deep winter but are transformed between spring and autumn from green to burnt orange leaves, bright blossom and unusual brown fruit.

A nod to the Pumphouse's history. This is the original pump - weighing an impressive 10 imperial tonnes! It was transported by train from the Ironworks in Shropshire to Cambridge, then by horse and cart before being installed as a working pump in 1890.

The pump has been retired, but follow for other original features that will be retained to add character to these beautiful and unique new homes.
