Stay by the Shore A sea front cottage with direct sea access and mountain views - a perfect getaway in the Scottish Highlands.

Beul Na Mara is a white washed 2 bed cottage nestled along the shoreline in the village of Gairloch. It's enviable position would suit couples seeking an idyllic secluded break but equally those who love the outdoors and everything this stunning part of the Highlands has to offer. If strolls along a sandy beach followed by a trip to one of the local pubs is your thing or alternatively for the more seriously minded walkers tackling one of the many challenging Munros that surround this area of Wester Ross then Beul Na Mara is a fantastic base for your holiday on the west coast. Whilst the cottage is over one hundred years old and maintains many of the original features we were keen to add a modern feel to the interior to enhance these features but also offered the comforts you'd expect whilst on holiday. There is a wood burning stove in the lounge and also in the day room and the cottage is fully central heated and double glazed so whatever the time of year or whatever the weather decides to do the cottage will always feel cosy. There is Wi-Fi and a blue-toothed enabled i-pod dock as well as a large flat screen tv with freesat. We provide all bed linen as well as towels and basket of logs and kindling for each wood burner. For those warmer evenings there is a decked sitting area at the rear of the house with a terraced garden leading up to a seating area where you can catch a glimpse of the sea over the cottage roof top. Alternatively you can sit on the pew in the south facing front porch in front of the large landscape window and look out for seals, birds or the boats over at Badachro Bay and completely unwind.

Following the Scottish government announcement, our holiday cottage will now be open from 4th July and we cannot wait to welcome guests back to Gairloch. We will be delaying the opening of the B&B until 1st September.

We have carried out a Risk Assessment and a clear process to maintain cleanliness and social distancing in the current climate so guests can be rest assured and enjoy their holiday.

We will ask guests to help us by following guidelines during their stay at the cottage and also to respect the local community and wear face coverings where appropriate and maintain social distance as per government guidelines but we think this is a small price to pay for being able to holiday in this beautiful part of the world.

Received this Five star review from our lovely guests in December - thank you so much for everyone that takes time out to review their holiday at Beul - we hugely appreciate it!

"This is our second visit to Beul na Mara and I doubt it will be our last. The house is bigger than it looks, with two living areas and two good sized bedrooms. The house is tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. The WiFi signal is good, the shower is good and the beds are comfy (3 main criteria for us). I love the fact that there isn't a road in front of the house, to be able to walk out of the house onto the grass with a cup of tea in hand and watch the waves lap up against the rocks was fantastic (having said that parking is only a few meters away so best of both worlds). The village of Gairloch is a short walk away, the local hotel and bar is about 2 mins walk as is McColls shop (a bit of a tardis of a shop and stocks all sorts). The last time we were in Gairloch we did lots of drives and day trips to the likes of Ullapool, Torridon, Applecross, Redpoint and Lower Diabaig (the drive here may not be as famous as the Applecross road but it is absolutely stunning). There was a lot of snow this time, so we didn't do much driving, just took in lots of walks, read lots of books and snuggled up nice cosy in Beul na Mara. A wonderful stress-free, relaxing break"
