Ever found yourself in a meeting thinking:

“Why are they like that?”

You are definitely not alone.

For our next PBN Glasgow event on Tuesday 7th July, we’re delighted to welcome Yvonne Anderson FCIPD FIoL from Prospero People who’ll be delivering a brilliant session called:

“Why Are They Like That?”

Yvonne will be exploring the different working styles, communication habits, generational stereotypes and everyday frustrations that can appear when people think, speak or operate differently from one another.

It promises to be a fun, practical and genuinely useful session for anyone who leads a team, manages people, works in HR, runs a business, or simply wants to understand people a bit better.

And as always, there will be plenty of time in the room for quality conversations, new connections and catching up with the PBN Glasgow community.

Some of the best business conversations do not start with a pitch.

They start with a proper introduction.

A shared challenge.
A useful idea.
A “you should speak to…”
A conversation that feels natural rather than forced.

That is what we want PBN Glasgow to be.

A room where business owners and professionals can connect properly, hear from strong speakers, and leave with something useful - whether that is a new contact, a fresh perspective, or an idea they can take back into their business.

Tomorrow evening, Progressive Business Network Glasgow returns to Glasgow Caledonian University.

We will be joined by Darren Jamieson of Engage Web, better known as The Engaging Marketeer, for a practical session on digital marketing, websites, social media, and how businesses can turn online attention into real opportunities.

It should be a really valuable evening for anyone looking to grow their network, improve their visibility, and have better business conversations in the room.

If you have been thinking about coming along, now is the time to get your place booked.

Every business community needs new people coming through.

The early-stage founders.

The side-hustlers.

The young professionals starting to build something of their own.

The people with ideas, ambition, and the appetite to learn.

PBN Glasgow is not only for established business owners.

It is also for people who are still building confidence, still growing their network, and still working out how to get their business in front of the right people.

That is one of the reasons we are keen to have young entrepreneurs and early-stage business owners in the room this Thursday.

On Thursday 28th May, Progressive Business Network Glasgow will be joined by Darren Jamieson of Engage Web, better known as The Engaging Marketeer.

Darren will be sharing practical insight into digital marketing, websites, social media, and how businesses can turn online attention into real opportunities.

For anyone starting out, building visibility, or trying to get better enquiries, this is exactly the kind of session that could be genuinely useful.

We have a small number of complimentary places available for young entrepreneurs or early-stage business owners who would benefit from being in the room.

Know someone who should be there?

Being online is not the same as being visible.

Being visible is not the same as being trusted.

And being trusted is not the same as generating enquiries.

That is where digital marketing really starts to matter.

For most businesses, your online presence should help people do three simple things:

Find you.
Understand what you do.
Feel confident enough to contact you.

A website that does not convert, social media that does not engage, or marketing activity that does not lead to real conversations can very quickly become noise.

Next Thursday, 28th May, Progressive Business Network Glasgow will be joined by Darren Jamieson of Engage Web, better known as The Engaging Marketeer.

Darren will be sharing practical insight into how businesses can use digital marketing, websites, and social media more effectively to turn online attention into real opportunities.

For business owners and professionals, what feels like the hardest part of digital marketing right now - being found, building trust, or turning interest into enquiries?

If you want your marketing to do more than simply exist, this is a session worth being in the room for.

A lot of business owners know they need to improve their marketing.

Far fewer know where to actually start.

More content?
More adverts?
A new website?
More social media?

Most businesses are constantly being told to do more without first understanding what’s actually working.

That’s why we’re looking forward to welcoming Darren Jamieson of Engage Web to Progressive Business Network Glasgow on Thursday 28th May.

Darren has built a reputation for cutting through the noise and helping businesses focus on practical marketing strategies that genuinely make a difference.

No buzzwords. No pretending there’s a magic formula. Just real insight from someone who works in this world every single day.

If your business relies on visibility, reputation, enquiries, or sales, this is a session worth being in the room for.

A lot of what PBN Glasgow has become comes down to the approach taken by the host.

For David Hamilton, it’s never been about putting on an event for the sake of it.

It’s about the room.

Who’s in it.

The mix of people.

The conversations that happen as a result.

That’s why these events have quickly built momentum.

Business owners.
Decision-makers.
People building something.
And those at the very start of their journey.

Different stages but the same mindset.
Moving things forward.

Alongside that, Davie Sneddon L.ISP of Sales Geek Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 will be leading the session, sharing how to build a sales structure that actually delivers consistent results.

No hard sell.

No forced networking.

Just a genuinely good room and the kind of conversations that tend to lead somewhere.

A lot of people ask what these events are actually like.

So here’s the reality.

You walk in…
Grab a drink…

And within a few minutes you’re in conversation.

No awkward introductions.

No forced networking.

Just people talking about what they’re working on, what’s going well, what’s not and where they’re trying to get to.

Some conversations last 2 minutes.

Some last the whole night.

And every now and then, one of them leads somewhere.

That’s what PBN Glasgow is about.

On Thursday 30 April, we’re back at Glasgow Caledonian University.

A strong room.

A practical session with Davie Sneddon L.ISP of Sales Geek Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

And an environment that makes those conversations easy.

By now, you probably know if this is for you.

PBN Glasgow isn’t for everyone, and that’s intentional.

This is for:

• business owners and founders
• senior leaders and decision-makers
• people responsible for growing something - not just maintaining it
• and those seriously thinking about starting a business

People who:

• value being in the right rooms, not just more rooms
• prefer real conversations over surface-level networking
• are open to ideas, connections, and different ways of thinking

It’s not for:

• collecting business cards
• quick wins
• or standing around wondering why you came

On Thursday 30 April, we’re back at Glasgow Caledonian University.

We will have a strong room as usual, and of course, we will be joined by the fantastic Davie Sneddon L.ISP of Sales Geek Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿providing a practical session on all things sales related.
