BoConcept Project, Argyll Street, Glasgow

In April 2021, Chartered Contracting Services Ltd commenced the fit-out of the new BoConcept Store on Ingram Street.

Chartered Contracting Services Ltd prepared all tender documentation for this project.

Our team completed the Tender Analysis Process, and the successful contractors were appointed.

The project is currently onsite and moving towards completion over the next few weeks.

This is a real-time example of how Chartered Contracting Services Ltd can expertly guide clients from:

- through to final completion and handover

Q. We’ve recently been asked ‘How many projects a month would justify employing an outsourced QS?’

A. We work with a lot of small and medium sized builders who don’t have the budget for a full time QS but need this service. There’s no exact number, however we’re able to provide clients with a focused and professional, Estimating, Project Management and Quantity Surveying service tailored to their specific requirements.

These services can range in project values from £50K - £10m, involving Extension/Refurb Projects (£50k-£1m), New Build Housing Projects (£1m-£10m), Commercial and Retail Projects (limitless in value).

Chartered Contracting Services Ltd were appointed as Client Quantity Surveyors for the prestigious new BoConcept Scotland Store in Ingram Street, Glasgow.

Our initial role was to provide the Client with a Construction budget based on initial Concept Drawings. Having provided this cost information and the Client being happy with the quality of information being provided, we were then instructed to proceed to Tender Stage. A comprehensive Bill of Quantities and Tender Drawings were subsequently produced and issued to Contractors for pricing. On return of Tenders, the full arithmetical, specification and qualifications exercise took place to establish the most competent Tender return. As a result of the work process carried out by Chartered Contracting Services Ltd, a successful Contractor was appointed, and the project is currently on site.

We are now offering the Client a monthly valuation service for this project, and we will take it through to Completion, including agreeing the final account figure on behalf of the Client and Contractor.

Good progress is now being made on site:

🔨 External walls have now been framed out and sheeted.
🔨 All partitions have been erected.
🔨 Electrical first fix is underway.
🔨 The steelwork at the proposed lift opening has been installed.
🔨 The internal steel staircase has been ordered.
🔨 Works relating to the MVHR & Fire Suppression systems are also well underway.

Project Update - Broomknoll Parish Church

Continuing our very successful relationship with our Client Rosewood Homes, we are pleased to confirm the steady progress onsite with completion due at the end of September 2021.

Chartered Contracting Services Ltd were appointed by Rosewood Homes at the Concept stage of this project and we have successfully taken the project from Inception through Project Feasibility, including a desktop feasibility document confirming the project viability. Our role in the project then evolved into producing a fully quantified and costed Construction Bill of Quantities. This document has been the principal commercial and financial document used to manage the full Construction process.

We’re delighted to confirm that this project is nearing completion with our role as Quantity Surveyors, proving invaluable to our clients Rosewood Homes.

Despite minor progress delays, our responsive team pushed the boundaries with Cladding, Stone Repairs, Curtain Walling & Roughings.

We’re happy to report that by the end of this month progress will exceed the Church extension externally with the roof slated, rendered, scaffold dismantled and commencement of the kitchen installations.

🚧🏗 Progress update 🏗🚧

Our client Rosewood Homes has been making exceptional progress on the Campbell Street Development.

Here’s the latest updates:
Both the 3rd and 4th storey Timber Frame buildings have been completed and it is in now ready for the team to start with the flat roof tapered insulation.

The first lift of precast stairs has been installed, and the above concrete blockwork has been finalised.

Chartered Contracting Services Ltd are delighted to continue our association with Rosewood Homes Ltd and Clyde Valley Housing Association.

Currently onsite, we are providing Quantity Surveying services for the construction of 25 New Build flats (approximate value of £3.5m) in Campbell Street, Hamilton.

On a recent site visit, we were able to observe the progress of the Timber Frame and the inside of one of the new flats, ready for the next stage of development (commencement of fitout works).
