HAPPY 79th BIRTHDAY WAVERLEY! π₯³π’
79 years ago today, on 16th June 1947, Waverley made her maiden voyage from Craigendoran to Rothesay, and then up Loch Long and Loch Goil to Arrochar.
Waverley entered service as the new post war paddler built for the London & North Eastern Railway. She was the last paddle steamer to be built for Clyde service, but would unknowingly become the Worldβs last seagoing paddle steamer.
Waverley returns to Glasgow & the Clyde Coast from Friday 26th June to Sunday 30th August 2026.
