This is an example of a house we bought in North Ayrshire back in 2020, all refurbed and ready to be a home for a local family.

It had been loved, but not updated for over 40 years so it needed a full makeover.

This is what we do.

If you're needing to do a clear out or get rid of stuff during a refurb what are your options?

1. Do the work yourself and take to your local recycling centre. The good thing here is it'll not cost you £ but could take up a lot of time. If you can sweet talk them, get help from friends and family and pay in pizza and beer 🍕🍻

2. Pay somebody to do the rip out and an uplift company to take it away to be recycled or to landfill. This can be costly and if you've got a lot, can mean it takes time getting it into the cage/van in the right order. It's great for mini loads, especially if they aren't too heavy ... e.g. no bricks!

3. Hire a skip. The most common one in the photo is an 8ft skip and cost £260. It's a relatively good option if you have a place for it to sit and a skip full. Just make sure you fill it before your lovely neighbours 😏

Whichever way you plan to do it there will be pros and cons.

We know this can be a headache for many sellers when we are buying properties and therefore we quite often take this on once we've purchased it. It can always be discussed as part of the sale so don't assume you'll need to deal with it. Just let us know.

We're always delighted to help all our clients and were blown away by the lovely kind words from Karren, a lady who sold her house through us late last year.

I met her when I viewed her home, which was on the market, but unfortunately she'd not had any offers. She desperately wanted to move into a bigger house with her family and was currently paying two mortgages because this one hadn't sold yet and she didn't know why.

After meeting her and viewing the property I gave her a price that worked for her and one of our buyers. She was delighted. After this the process was simple.

Our buyer viewed the property and then their solicitor sent the formal offer to the sellers solicitor. As they were buying cash, a few weeks later Karren had the money in her bank and could move on with her life.

This makes what we do so worthwhile.
