🧺 WE’RE HIRING – DOMESTIC & LAUNDRY ASSISTANT 🧹

Elizabeth Homes, Howden is looking for a caring, reliable and hardworking Domestic & Laundry Assistant to join our friendly team. ❤️

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and understands how important a clean, comfortable and homely environment is for our residents.

✨ The role includes:
• Cleaning residents’ rooms and communal areas
• Laundry and linen duties
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Working respectfully around our residents
• Being part of a friendly and supportive team

⏰ Hours: 2–3 shifts per week
📅 Including alternative weekends
📍 Location: Elizabeth Homes, Howden

Previous experience in a care home or domestic/laundry role would be an advantage, but the right attitude and a caring approach are just as important.

🌸☀️ CAN OUR AMAZING LOCAL COMMUNITY HELP US? ☀️🌸

We’re busy planning a Summer Garden Party for our wonderful residents and their families, and we’re hoping to make it a really special day filled with laughter, music, food, games and hopefully even some alpacas/farm animals as well as Rowan the friendly Rat 🐀 🦙🐑🐐 ❤️

We’re a dementia care home and would love to bring our residents, their families and the local community together for a proper old-fashioned summer fun day — something the residents can enjoy and something the grandchildren will be excited to come along to too! 🥰

BUT… we need to beg, borrow and hopefully blag a little help! 😂🙏

We’re looking for any local businesses, families or members of our community who might be able to donate, lend or sponsor anything that could help make our day special.

We’d be incredibly grateful for donations of:

🌸 Garden decorations / bunting
🎈 Balloons
🍰 Cakes & sweet treats
🎁 Raffle or tombola prizes
🎯 Garden games
🎨 Children’s activities
🍦 Ice cream / children’s treats
🎟️ Vouchers or experiences from local businesses

Absolutely nothing is too small! ❤️ Even donating a raffle prize, a packet of sweets or lending us a garden game would help.

If you’re a local business, we’d be more than happy to give you a shout-out and thank you publicly for supporting our residents and the local community. ❤️

🌸🐑 CAN YOU HELP US? 🦙🐐🐴

We’re planning a summer garden party for our residents on Sunday 13th September at 2pm and would absolutely love to make it a really special day for them! 💕🌞

We’re looking for someone local who may be able to bring along some friendly farmyard animals for our residents and their families to enjoy — perhaps alpacas, goats, sheep, miniature ponies or other suitable animals. 🦙🐐🐑🐴

we’d love to give our residents the opportunity to enjoy something a little different, with their families and children joining us too. ❤️

If you know of any local farms, animal experiences, petting farms or small businesses who might be interested in coming along (ideally at a reasonable/community-friendly cost), we’d be incredibly grateful if you could tag them below or get in touch with us. 🙏

With the sun hiding away, our residents have been enjoying a lovely trip down memory lane, reminiscing about their previous jobs, hobbies and favourite pastimes. 💭❤️
It’s been wonderful hearing their stories, sharing memories and enjoying some meaningful conversations together. There’s nothing quite like a good chat to bring back happy memories! 😊
