Wow! We passed this on a drive up the very beautiful Rhigos Mountain this week. It looks both terrifying a awesome at the same time! Only 25 mins drive from Lilac Cottage - we will be trying it out soon!!

We enjoyed the most amazing dinner here tonight. A true gem, normally a wedding and conference venue, branching out as a restaurant and hotel in these strange times - how lucky were we! Beautiful views from the terrace, fantastic and reasonably priced menu including a kids menu - you’ve just got to go! Couldn’t recommend more highly ❤️

Following the First Minster of Wales’ announcement on Friday lifting travel restrictions in Wales we have lifted the remaining access area and rights of way closures in the Brecon Beacons National Park.

We are looking forward to providing a warm Welsh welcome to the Brecon Beacons National Park, however we would like to ask visitors to follow the First Minster of Wales’ request to visit Wales safely. “We ask that you plan ahead as although footpaths and carparks are open many associated facilities are not. Please remember that if it feels too crowded it is too crowded and have a ‘plan B’ ready for your visit.”

The First Minister of Wales has in particular asked that you “Be kind to local residents and to fellow visitors by parking considerately, leaving nothing behind and following the recently revised countryside code.”

Chief Executive of the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority, Julian Atkins said “We know how much everyone has missed the Brecon Beacons and enjoying our National Park. With our communities we look forward to welcoming you as you visit Wales safely. Please respect people, protect the natural environment and enjoy the National Park safely.”

Some good news at last! The Welsh government announced last week that self-catering cottages in Wales may be permitted to open on 13th July (final decision is due on 6th July). There are also good signs that many of the local outdoor activities that we love will shortly be able to open again promising opportunities for a much needed fun-filled summer break :-)

We are therefore now accepting provisional bookings for Lilac Cottage from 13th July 2020 onwards. These will be fully refundable in the event that we are unable to open or have to close again due to COVID-19.

We currently have a few dates available in the school summer holidays so if your travel plans have been scuppered and you fancy a relaxing trip to Wales, please let us know! We will only be accepting direct bookings for the next week to give priority to previous guests/friends; we will then plan to re-open our AirBnB page for bookings in the next couple of weeks.

lilaccottage.promotemyplace.com. Please note that in order to allow for enhanced cleaning and to meet COVID-19 restrictions, we will need to leave a break between each booking (of at least 24 hours).

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that like many others, and following tonight's announcement from the Prime Minister, we will be closing Lilac Cottage until further notice.

We look forward to welcoming visitors in the future to this beautiful area of Wales, but for now we wish everyone well.

We will be refunding all existing direct bookings in full and we are hopeful that Airbnb will support us in this decision for any bookings made through them.
