CARTMEL VILLAGE SOCIETY’S 2026 Annual Lecture will be held on Friday, October 23rd at 7pm in the village hall with a talk by Colin Burke on “Who has left their mark on Cartmel…and who hasn’t”. Weaving his way through his book, A Brief History of Cartmel, Colin will identify those characters and events which have left their mark on the village, whether through direct or indirect influence, and those who have not. With some surprising inclusions and equally surprising exclusions, he hopes to both entertain and enlighten.
