It’s the Doll’s House Fair this weekend! 🏠

This Saturday, from 10am to 4pm, come along to celebrate miniature craftsmanship with us, bringing together artisans and enthusiasts. An array of high-quality miniatures will be on show, from 1:12 scale furniture and architectural components to handcrafted dolls and period-accurate accessories.

A curated selection of makers will showcase bespoke creations not typically found on the high street and there’ll be a chance for visitors to purchase unique pieces to start or expand their own collections.

There are just 100 days to Christmas, and it's the perfect time to announce that we'll be hosting Circus Starlight's Christmas Circus this December! 🎪

Step into the big top in our garden and prepare to be dazzled! This festive show brings together a spectacular team of professional circus artists alongside the talented young performers from Circus Starlight's Young Performers Project.

Expect an exhilarating mix of aerial, acrobatics, comedy, juggling and much more, with performers ranging in age from just 10 years old to adult professionals. It’s a unique celebration of talent, creativity and community, wrapped up in plenty of Christmas magic.

Introducing Little Lambs Storytime Sessions at Grantham House! 🐑

Join us for stories and play in the bookshop every Wednesday at 11am and 2pm, starting 23 September.

Designed for under 5s and their parents and carers, Little Lambs is a relaxed weekly session featuring a seasonal story and themed play or activities.

It's weekend here at Grantham House! 🎉

While we offer free entry to everyone all year round, this weekend we're also putting on special tours to learn more about this amazing place.

Sunday's Guided History Talks are fully booked but there are still a few places left for Saturday's sessions at 11am and 1pm to explore the story and heritage of the property as well as venturing upstairs to parts of the building not normally open to the public.

At 12pm and 2pm on both days, tours of the beautiful gardens will be led by one of our expert Grantham House gardening volunteers. These garden tours don't need to be booked so please show up in plenty of time to join in.

You just have a few more weeks to appreciate the incredible Garden of Hope in our gardens 🦋

This powerful installation, from local charity Evelyn's Butterfly Effect, features 98 handpainted steel butterflies, each representing a life lost to su***de in Lincolnshire.

Created by local schools and community groups, the artwork encourages open conversations around mental health, su***de awareness, and - above all - hope.

It's here until the end of the month so make sure to take some time to visit it before then.

The Dolls House Fair is back this month! 🏠

On Saturday 19 September, celebrate miniature craftsmanship with us as we bring together artisans and enthusiasts for this popular free event. Visitors can expect to see an array of high-quality miniatures, ranging from 1:12 scale furniture and architectural components to handcrafted dolls and period-accurate accessories.

You'll find a curated selection of makers showcasing bespoke creations not typically found on the high street, plus you'll have the chance to purchase unique pieces to start or expand your own collection.

It's a great opportunity to meet fellow hobbyists and learn about the history and techniques behind the art of miniaturization too.

With the 'ber months upon us from tomorrow, we'll be changing our opening hours here at Grantham House 🍁

From 1 September, the whole property will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (with the church office remaining open as normal) until spring although we'll be reverting to 7-day opening during Lincolnshire half term and the Christmas holidays. During September, we'll be open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm with the tearoom stopping service by 4pm.

We hope to see you for crunchy leaf walks and cosy hot chocolates by the fire soon!

August Bank Holiday, 1917 🌿

More than a century ago, the Beard family gathered in the gardens of Grantham House for the August Bank Holiday weekend.

George Beard, Grantham House’s Gardener, lived at 43 Castlegate with his wife Ruth and their six children. The couple had married at St Wulfram’s Church in 1888, just across the road from the house.

This photograph captures a special moment, with sons Arthur and Bill home from military service during the First World War.
