Neighbourhood Action Plans in Action: Creating Communal Gardens to Be Proud Of
Thornton Crescent is a great example of how our Neighbourhood Action Plans help turn customer ideas into lasting improvements.
Over the past eight years, customers have transformed their communal garden into a vibrant shared space with colourful planting, a sensory rose garden, wildlife-friendly areas, bird feeding stations, fruit trees, seating areas and a beautiful cherry blossom tree.
When customers highlighted the need for a shared garden shed, Becky, one of our Neighbourhood Officers, secured funding with support from Georgia Berry, Place Officer, helping bring the project to life. Installed this summer, the shed provides access to shared gardening equipment, making it easier for everyone to help maintain and develop the garden.

This is a great example of how listening to customers, understanding local priorities and investing in neighbourhood improvements can strengthen communities and create places people are proud to call home.
