Should you hide your fur baby during a viewing? 🤔
If you have pets, you'll love them to bits and they’ll be part of the family. One of the problems that we all face is that our pets have their own particular smells and, as homeowners we get used to them. To potential buyers, who’ll be unfamiliar with your pet’s particular pong, this may well be off putting to some buyers and some may be allergic!
Some potential buyers will love your pets. But remember that your job when selling your home is to try and make it appeal to the widest possible audience!
Here's our tips:
1. Have your carpets washed with a professional cleaner.
2. If you have dogs, make sure that any mess or fouling is completely removed from the garden.
3. If you have feeding bowls, make sure they are removed from the kitchen during viewings.
4. Remove cat litter trays or make sure they are emptied.
5. When viewings are being conducted, where possible, arrange for your pets be away from the property. Simply making them ‘hide’ is not an option!
This may seem like blunt advice, but trust us, ignoring this advice could put potential buyers off.
