It does not look like much, but the soil in these sample pots helps tell the story of what is happening beneath the road.

The samples were collected as part of an investigation into road subsidence, helping to establish whether the road is continuing to sink and identify the possible causes. The findings will help the client develop a plan to mitigate any risks.

Just one small part of a ground investigation, but an important one.

More than 1.8 million British properties could be highly or extremely susceptible to clay shrink–swell by 2070, according to recent research from the British Geological Survey.

Our team recently completed a comprehensive buried utilities survey at The Hurlingham Club, London, producing an accurate, site-wide model of the existing underground infrastructure.

The survey will provide a reliable baseline for future planning and design, allowing proposed building works and new utility installations to progress with a clear understanding of what lies beneath the surface.

The team also had some memorable company during the works, with the club’s resident peacocks making an appearance. 🦚
