Another sad case of Box Tree Caterpillar damage 😔

We've removed these box trees today after they were completely decimated by box tree caterpillars. Unfortunately, by the time we were called out, the plants were beyond saving and had died off.

This is now around the fourth client this year who has lost their box hedging to these destructive pests. They're particularly active at this time of year, and infestations can spread quickly if left unchecked.

The good news is that treatment is available and can be very effective if the problem is identified early enough. Regular inspections are key – look out for chewed leaves, webbing, caterpillars, and rapid defoliation.

Due to an exceptionally busy season, we're unfortunately at full capacity and unable to take on any further treatment work this year. However, if you'd like to be added to our books for next season, please get in touch and we'll be happy to discuss your requirements.

A lovely transformation at the front of this property today! 🌿✂️

This mature laurel hedge was carefully trimmed and shaped to restore a neat, tidy appearance while maintaining its healthy growth. Regular maintenance like this keeps hedges looking their best and helps promote healthy, dense growth throughout the year.

We're incredibly grateful for the continued support and are currently extremely busy, with our diary largely full for the rest of this year. If you're thinking ahead and would like to be added to our books for next year, feel free to get in touch and we'll be happy to discuss your requirements.

A Day to Remember, A Friend We Will Never Forget

This photograph was taken on our wedding day, 5th September 1998. Pictured is Robert with his best man, Richard, standing proudly by his side.

Many of you will have seen our recent post about the unexpected loss of our dear friend Richard, who sadly passed away on 5th May. His passing has left a huge void in the lives of everyone who knew him.

Tomorrow, our family business will fall silent as we come together to attend Richard's funeral, say our final goodbye, and celebrate a life that touched so many people. Richard was more than a best man, more than a friend—he was someone who shared in life's milestones, offered unwavering support, and created memories that will stay with us forever.

We would like to thank everyone for the kind messages, cards, and support we have received during this difficult time.

Tomorrow we honour Richard, remember the laughter, cherish the memories, and celebrate a life well lived.

Rest in peace, Richard. You will be greatly missed and never ever forgotten.

💦 How Much Does Window Cleaning Cost? 💦

One of the most common messages we receive is:

"How much for a two-bedroom detached house?"

The truth is, not all two-bedroom detached houses are the same! 🏠

Some may have a handful of standard-sized windows, while others can have many more windows, larger glass panels, bay windows, patio doors, conservatories, and more. Even when we're told there are "4 windows at the front, 3 at the side, and 2 at the back," the size and style of those windows can make a big difference to the time and work involved.

To give you the most accurate quote possible, it's often easiest to send us your address. We can usually view your property online using services such as Street View or previous property listings, allowing us to assess the windows and provide a fair and accurate price without needing to visit first.

So if you'd like a quote, simply send us:
✅ Your address
✅ Any details about conservatories, extensions, or difficult-to-reach windows

We'll get back to you as quickly as possible with an accurate price.

📞 A little reminder from our family business 😊

We are incredibly grateful for how busy we've been lately and for all the recommendations we receive. Thank you to everyone who continues to support us.

However, we're getting quite a few messages that sound something like this:

"Hi, you've been recommended to clean my driveway. Please call me back."

Or:

"Hi, you've given me a quote and I'd like to go ahead. Please call me back."

The problem is that many of these messages don't include a phone number, address, or any details for us to identify who we're speaking to.

As a small family-run business, we receive a large number of calls, voicemails, texts, and messages every day. Unfortunately, we can't always work out who has contacted us from a brief message alone.

If you're leaving a message, please include:
✅ Your full name
✅ Your address or postcode
✅ Your phone number
✅ A brief description of the work required

And if you're accepting a quote, please remind us of your address so we can quickly find your details.

This helps us get back to you much faster and ensures nobody gets missed.
