Do you fancy spending a weekend in a castle at the beginning of October? We've sadly had a cancellation for 2-4 October so both the Castle and Stable Yard Cottage are now available to book. Please get in touch via [email protected] if you'd like to book either. The cottage sleeps 6 and the castle can sleep up to 70!!

Welcome to our brand new 2026 season of the South Tynedale Railway. All the work has been done by our fantastic volunteers, our first train leaves platform 1 at Alston at 10.30am we look forward to welcoming you all aboard.

Enjoy the beautiful views and keep an eye out for the deer.
