League match #2
EKRR 35's Vs Garrowhill 35's
Friday 3/4/26
Toryglen 8pm KO

28/03/2026

EKRR 35’s travelled to Ravenscraig Sports Centre to take on Wishaw FC on a blustery night.

With a squad of 15 and debut GK it was a much changed team from last week.

It was a tough start to the game for the Rolly suffering 3 early blows, the 1st was the opening goal when the Wishaw winger let rip from 25 yards the ball flying into the top left corner leaving John N no chance in goal. The 2nd blow was a disaster for Rolly right back Scott W when chasing down a long ball lost his balance and landed awkwardly on his wrist resulting in a very serious injury, speedy rocovery mate. The 3rd blow was to go 2-0 down and again the Rolly keeper was left with no chance as another long distance shot hit the back of the net.

In true Rolly fashion the boys rolled their sleeves up and centre Mids Davie G & Bert getting a foothold in the game resulted in a lovely move which ended with the Wishaw GK wiping out Tags, Pen to the Rolly, Tags stepped up making no mistake, game on. Before half time it was 2-2 Bert grabbing the equaliser after a fine bit of build play from the Rolly, HT.

Boys came out well but were dealt another blow when Wishaw scored their 3rd worldy of the night with the Wishaw 8 scoring a FK into the side netting from 30 yards, they nearly made it 4 but for a herioc save from the Rolly keeper flying out his goal to deny the Wishaw 9 a certain goal.

Up step Bert, captain for the night, equalising with a neat finish before putting us 4-3 up sealing his Hat-trick with a long range effort, Rolly were on top and turned the screw after more neat play resulted in Paul G swivelling on the penalty spot before putting the ball past the keeper 5-3 Rolly.

Big performances from all the boys tonight as we were left with just 13 players after the Injury and Allan M taking Scott to A&E, going 2-0 down to win quite comfortably with experience showing and seeing out the game.

After an excellent win in our 1st league game, we go again in a friendly match against Wishaw FC 35's.
With a few 1st team starters out of action for a rest, it gives other lads a chance to show what they've got,
In a game that promises to be an excellent match up between the teams.
Let's get this done lads.

Tonight saw The Rolly 35's play their 1st league game of the season, away to a very good Fir Park Corner.

The Rolly took the lead early in the 1st half, against the run of play, the boys then started to find their feet and control the game, we were unlucky not to double the lead through a few well created chances.
However it wasn't to be as Fir Park Corner equalised with 10 minutes still to play in the half.
2nd half saw 1 or 2 changes, however we didn't come out as quick as we would've liked and For Park scored a well worked goal to make it 2-1.
After another double substitute and a switch of formation, The Rolly found their rhythm and got an excellent equaliser through Grant Malcolm who had only just come on and was playing through a slight injury.
The next 15-20 mins saw The Rolly move the ball about expertly and cut open Fir Park, time and time again William Hastings, David Graham and Bert all unlucky not to be on the score sheet.
Outstanding display from Bert saw the GK having to make 2 top class saves, and big Grant fired just wide.
Big Hastie ran the line well, on another night with a bit more luck he'll bag a few.
Finally with 10 minutes to go David MacGregor did be well to win a foul on the edge of the box at the by line, great delivery by Steven Colquhoun saw the ball ricochet off a Fir Park player and into his own net, nothing less than we deserved.
Great start to the league campaign, now we move on to the next game.
An excellent all round display by everyone.
Each and everyone of the lads played their hearts out, played and won that game for the badge.
