Everyone goes to Venice.

But just beyond the destination everyone already knows is Padova — and it might be one of northern Italy’s most underrated city breaks. 🇮🇹

Walk around the extraordinary Prato della Valle, step inside the magnificent Basilica of St Anthony, wander beneath the arcades of the historic centre and discover Giotto’s breathtaking frescoes inside the Scrovegni Chapel.

Padova is also home to one of Europe’s great historic universities and the world’s oldest surviving university botanical garden, founded in 1545.

Then, when the sightseeing is done, find a table in one of the piazzas, order a spritz and watch the city go by.

Everyone talks about Tuscany.
