So, here’s some news.

Today was the last changeover for us at Ty Lloi. We are moving on to pastures new as they say, but luckily the new owners Jon and Jacqui are going to continue to make this lovely place available for holiday rentals in Pembrokeshire, and we are delighted!

Take care everyone and thank you for all the support we have received over the last 5 years.

It was quite unexpected the first time we came across St Non’s when we were walking the coast path south of St David’s - the ruins where St David was apparently born, the modern chapel and retreat, also a well where the waters are thought to have healing powers.

It’s definitely worth planning a walk on this section of the path and taking a closer look, especially now some works have been done to improve access to the site.

Work has been completed at St Non’s Chapel and Holy Well near St Davids to improve access to this important historical and spiritual site.
In addition to path improvements, which will allow disabled access closer to the ruins, an interpretation panel will be located on site to provide information on the life of St Non.

Great advice here for when you come across seals and their pups when you are walking the coast path.

Great advice here for when you come across seals and their pups when you are walking the coast path.

PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB
It's a very special time of year on the coast at the moment, as our resident seal population welcomes their newly born pups. Locations like Martin's Haven, Marloes Sands and the Blue lagoon are often locations where mother seals will give birth, and then leave their pups reclining on the beach whilst they go off to forage for a tasty fish meal for their newborns. It is of paramount importance that visitors with dogs keep them on a short lead.
Here is some guidance for visiting the coast during seal breeding season.

Sssh Be quiet!

Pretend to be David Attenborough and speak with a low voice and encourage your children to do the same. Noisy dogs and seals do not mix well at all so if your pet is very chatty don’t take it on a visit to a seal breeding area.

Don’t Get Close!
Ensure you stay at least 50 metres away from any seals (three London buses in length).
Never come between a seal and her pup or a seal and the sea. This will cause distress to both the mother and pup.
Don’t attempt to touch a seal as physical contact with a human can damage a seal for the rest of its life.

Keep your dog on a lead!
Dogs should be kept on a short lead.
Please don’t play with balls or flying rings anywhere near a breeding colony as this will cause distress. It goes without saying, never allow a dog to run loose near a seal colony.

Carew Castle is well worth a visit. There’s also a circular walk with lots of rewarding views and an interesting place for a beer afterwards is the Creselly Arms, just a short drive away.

“If only these walls could talk?”🤔 – wondered , photographer of this Carew Castle shot.

Family-friendly and easily accessible, this historic gem is suitable for visiting with buggies and wheelchairs.

These coastal buses are a brilliant service for visitors, especially walkers wanting to make the most of the coast path.

You can see more of the coast by catching the bus in one direction and walking back to your car.

As coastal car parks in Pembrokeshire are extremely busy this year, the coastal buses offer a great way to avoid the hassle of finding a space. There's also the daily Tenby park and ride which runs from the Salterns car park.
