Simon Riordan, the illustrator and designer of the Discover Hayle Map has been hard at work for the last year creating a map that covers Cornwall in its entirety - Cornwall Uncovered. The beautifully illustrated map celebrates the history, culture and natural environment of this unique peninsula and includes of course Hayle and its surrounding area!

A campaign has just been launched at the crowdfunding website Kickstarter.com in order to raise funds for the printing of the map. Do visit the site http://kck.st/KBEM7Q , enjoy the video and maybe even make a pledge!

Congratulations to the designers of the Discover Hayle Map, Simon and Greta Riordan - it is fantastic and there is plenty on it for everyone to enjoy. And kudos, too, to the Hayle Area Plan team that have helped bring this project to fruition and planned the great launch event on Saturday, March 26. Come and collect your free copy of the map and join in the celebration.

The Discover Hayle Map and Website project aims to encourage us to discover the rich diversity of the Hayle, Gwinear-Gwithian and St Erth area. The Map promotes sustainability, public transport, walking and cycling and raises local awareness of the rich diversity of flora and fauna in the area along with 3 Heritage and Nature Trails that bring to life the people and industry that helped make the town.
