The small pond at the round tower behind the house is suddenly alive with tiny tadpoles! We noticed frogs gathering for their annual party at the end of February, creating lots of frogspawn. Over the next couple of months we can watch the tadpoles develop as the water lilies grow and provide shelter.

The garden is looking wonderful- full of big-leaved rhododendrons in flower, following the huge asiatic magnolias now mainly fallen petals on the ground.
Tiny erythroniums are coming out in the rock garden where the deer can’t reach them- that’s why we deer-fenced it 10 years ago!
