A look behind the scenes.

We’re sharing a glimpse from a recent project, where it’s all been happening and the team have been working as hard as ever.

A lot has already changed.

These are just a few of the things we’ve learnt so far, and we’re sure there will be plenty more as we continue.

We’ve already come a long way, and each lesson is part of that progress.

A quote should go deeper.

When we look at a project, we are not just pricing what is shown on the drawings. We review the plans properly, look for anything that may not be right, and help clients understand what should be included before decisions are made.

Sometimes that means suggesting a better way to approach the work. Sometimes it means flagging risks early, or explaining where it may be sensible to save and where it is worth spending properly.

Even if a client chooses another builder, the advice still matters. A clear, informed conversation at the start can help avoid vague quotations, missed details and bigger problems later on.

Getting the planning right makes the build clearer.

Building is only one part.

One thing we wish was made clearer earlier is that you’re not just a builder. You’re running the whole business, and that comes with people’s investments involved.

Being busy doesn’t always mean you’re making money, and every client’s project carries weight. Reputation can change overnight, so how everything is handled matters just as much as the construction itself.

The hardest part isn’t always the build. It’s the responsibility that comes with it, and the fact that you never really switch off.

The drawing is only the start.

Just because something is shown on a drawing, it doesn’t always mean that’s the best way to build it. Before we start, we’ll go through the details with the client and look at whether anything could be improved.

Sometimes that means a neater finish, sometimes it makes the build more straightforward, and sometimes it’s simply a better use of the space.

The same goes for finishes. Quartz worktops are a popular choice for kitchens because they look class and last well, and with our long-standing supplier relationships, we can often help clients get a decent discount too.

It’s all about having the right conversations early.

The job doesn’t end there.

Once the work is finished, we always return and walk through the home with you properly. It gives us the chance to check everything over, see if anything has settled, and deal with any small tweaks that need sorting.

That aftercare is part of the job for us. If there’s ever an issue, our clients know they can pick up the phone and we’ll come back to put it right. Every project comes with a 10-year warranty, and we’re fully insured.

It’s the way we’ve always worked.

This one is really taking shape.

To make these loft conversions work properly, the whole roof had to come off and be built back up again. It was the only way to create the space and layout the clients wanted, and now the reason for that approach is starting to show.

The large front loft window is going to be a standout feature, taking up nearly the full wall and bringing in loads of natural light. Inside, everything is being kept clean and minimal, with a brilliant bathroom planned, air conditioning throughout the home, and a kitchen that’s set to completely change the feel of the place once it’s installed.
