Decor tip: forget your homes main colour scheme/look and have some fun with your kids bedrooms. BUT keep walls and carpets versatile. That doesn’t mean it has to be plain, just something that can transfer to a different theme/more grown up look as they get older.

I went for blue walls with the top third white to make it look like the sky and added removable car wall stickers. When they decide they want a new theme the blue and white can complement almost anything but without being plain.

Also, if you have children like mine - use washable paint on the walls. I’ve scrubbed off handprints, pen, slime, all sorts without having to repaint - definitely worth paying more for the washable paint.

Country modern transformation.
This is a project I worked on. The client wanted to update her kitchen and snug area to a country modern look but without ripping the whole thing out and starting again.

We opted for a redecoration, new statement cupboard fronts in the kitchen, new sofa covers, cushions and coffee table with a faux built in fireplace to add a cosy feel to the room.

The nights are drawing in and there’s talk of Christmas in the air - it must be time to give my cocktail cabinet a a refresh.

I love this IKEA enhet cabinet- it slotted right in with my existing kitchen units, was easy to hang and cheap as chips.
