🥰 We have just had the most blissful weekend away with our family and friends and only half an hours drive from Hiddle Hut! 🚗

🎂We celebrated the big birthday of someone special and enjoyed exploring places right on our doorstep!

🐏 Bellingham is a wonderful historic market town with village charm, a riverside setting and spectacular countryside. Bring your walking boots as there is a wealth of stunning countryside to explore! 🥾

🌳 If you love waterfalls as much as we do, you will adore the enchanting woodland walk through a sheltered gorge to the spectacular Hareshaw Linn waterfall. Graded moderate, the 3 mile route follows well defined forest paths alongside Hareshaw Burn, with some short climbs, steps and uneven sections. Sturdy footwear is a must! 🥾

🍽️ After our walk, we had a fabulous lunch at before setting off to explore the village shops and discovered where many treasures were found including a stunning Lino cut print by local artist that will add to our Hiddle Hut collection of fabulous local artists. ✏️

🌲 A short drive from Bellingham is Kielder, home to England’s largest forest and the biggest man-made lake in Northern Europe. This is a great place for anyone who loves exploring nature and enjoying outdoor activities. We called on the Oracle that is for some inspo of where to go and she came up with the goods as usual! We pulled into the carpark at Matthew’s Linn to check out the stunning views across the lake which, after this Summer’s heatwaves, was looking a little low but still very beautiful! We then headed around the lake to the Bakethin carpark and entered a fairytale woodland walk down to the lakeside - just far enough to stretch our legs and catch sight of an abundance of different funghi 🍄🍄‍🟫growing under the trees across the forest floor!

🤗 All of these locations are easily accessible from Hiddle Hut and perfect for a day of exploring during your stay!

🤭 We’ve had a lot of new followers lately so just to make things easier I’ve put our F.A.Q’s about Hiddle Hut down here.

🫠 As a small business owner you often feel like you have to explain or justify why you have certain policies but I’m just going to say that this is what works for us! These policies fit in with our ethics, beliefs, values and goals for our little business. Believe me, there has been push back at times but I am unwavering on all of these decisions so that our guests have the best possible pet free, child free & luxury Hiddle Hut experience possible - but with sustainability at the core of everything we do! 🌍🌳

📚 I believe that all of the carefully chosen options and additions, such as our curated book collection, sauna & cold plunge, welcome hamper and food options that are part of the Hiddle Hut experience, bring such a lot of value and pleasure for our guests. We include a myriad of luxuries to your stay too including our generous welcome hamper, firewood and specialty beverages that you may not find elsewhere. This year alone we have added an outdoor kitchen, cinema screen and projector in the bedroom and two outdoor seating and stargazing areas. 🍕🍿🌟

🚍 Accessible by public transport and with an hourly bus to nearby Haltwhistle and Hexham, you can extend the celebrations to a meal and drinks out at any one of our many nearby critically acclaimed restaurants!

🚂 Travelling to us via public transport? Order a supermarket food delivery to arrive here after 10am on the day of your arrival and I will unpack it all and put it away in the hut ready for when you get here! 🛍️

🍿Watching movies from the projector on the motorised screen at the end of the bed, taking long soaks in the huge reclaimed bath with views of an ancient castle and so many food options to choose from so that you don’t even have to go shopping!

🥰 We have this amazingly talented friend, Emma Emma | Northumberland Adventures on Instagram and Facebook who takes the most amazing photos and videos and promotes Northumberland through her social media accounts and with her work with our Tourism Partnership Visit Northumberland

🤩 We were so excited when Ems agreed to do a shoot here at the hut so that we can update our website which has long been overdue an overhaul! TWDA Website Design I will be in touch soon!

🫣 You know when you don’t want to ask your friend to do something for you because you don’t want to put them under any pressure but you don’t want to ask anyone else to do it because you know that they wouldn’t be able to create something as magical - well that! True story - Ems and I actually became friends because I was a massive fangirl of hers here on Insta! 🥰

📸 We had a brilliant couple of days shooting the hut and the new projects that we have completed this year to enhance our guest’s experience as well as the many food options from local suppliers for our self catering cabin. The list was long but we got it all done! ✔️

😘 Massive thanks to olliecantread and Hermione Berg Rust for being our models once again- true professionals!

🤩 This is just a tiny sample of the hundreds of pics that Emma sent through! I cried when I saw them as I could actually see my little cabin through someone else’s eyes and I must admit- I’d love to stay there too! I cant wait to share the rest of the photos, which I will drip feed you over the next few months! 🥰
