Zog is coming to Kielder- for Easter!

We are getting ready for the awesome Zog Trail coming to Kielder Castle for the Easter holidays and tie in with the return of The Street Diner catering in the Kielder Castle grounds.

Until then you can find all the Gruffalo sculptures on the Dukes Trail at Kielder Castle.

We are delighted 3/4 of the Lakeside Way is open again in time for Easter weekend.

A simple to follow map has been shared by Forestry England to help highlight what is open and where the blockages remain on the route.

Please note the north shore can be used as a figure of 8 using the forest road so ideal if you still want to get around 25 miles as a loop.

The south shore is badly blocked with trees around Bakethin towards Kielder village and work is already underway around Kielder village end.

Please do continue to stay safe and stay out of these blocked areas- it is not possible to get through them as there are 100’s of trees blocking these sections.

Our thanks to everyone behind the scenes who have worked non stop since November 26th on storm recovery work.

Kielder is one of the best forests for access across Northumberland as sadly many other forest are still closed so do come and enjoy the routes that are open and spare a thought for all the work so far to get Kielder back up and running- not an easy task at all!
