🚜 Farming Equipment & Technology Fund Now Open!

Applications opened today (17 March 2026) with a national budget of £50 million available.

Grants are available for items that help you:
• 🌾 Improve productivity
• 💧 Manage slurry
• 🐄 Enhance animal health & welfare

The scheme offers a set list of eligible items with specifications and expected scores.
💷 Grant funding:
• Minimum: £1,000 per theme
• Maximum: £25,000 per theme
• One application per theme allowed
Funding covers 40% or 50% of item costs — applicants fund the remainder

This is a competitive round, with awards made after all applications are scored:

🌱 BIG UPDATES FOR FARMERS: SFI26 + CAPITAL GRANTS + FETF 2026🌱

Defra has released major updates on the Sustainable Farming Incentive and other available grants for 2026.
Here’s what you need to know:

🌿 SFI26 – Key Changes for 2026
🔹 71 actions (reduced from 102), with former 5‑year options now 3‑year
🔹 £100,000 annual agreement cap

📉 Reduced Payment Rates:
• CSAM3 Herbal Leys: £382/ha → £224/ha
• CAHL2 Winter Bird Food: £853/ha → £648/ha
• CNUM3 Legume Fallow: £593/ha → £532/ha

📈 Increased Moorland Rates:
• UPL1 Moderate grazing: £20/ha → £35/ha
• UPL2 Low grazing: £53/ha → £89/ha
• UPL3 Limited grazing: £66/ha → £111/ha
• UPL8 Shepherding (4 months): £43/ha → £74/ha
• UPL10 Shepherding (8 months): £48/ha → £102/ha
🔹 Minimum 3+ hectares required
🔹 Application windows:
• June 2026 – Small farms (≤50ha with or without existing ELM agreement) + farms >50ha with no existing ELM agreement
• September 2026 – All eligible farms
