Throwback Thursday ❄️🕰️ — Devon's white Christmas, 2010

We still can't get over how beautiful the estate looked that winter. The lake half-frozen, every tree blanketed in snow, that golden light breaking through the clouds... it's the kind of scene you'd normally have to travel much further than North Devon to see.

Whatever the weather does this year, our cottages are ready for it — log fires, hot tubs steaming away, and 32 acres to wrap up warm and explore. There's something rather lovely about a countryside escape in winter. 🔥🐾

Fingers crossed for a repeat this year... 🤞

🐾 A Very Good Boy's Millbrook Adventure 🐾

Meet Moss — one half of our favourite four-legged double act, here with his brother Finn for a proper Devon getaway. Swimming in the lake, exploring the woodland hideaway, checking out the giraffes (yes, really), and generally making the most of every acre.

And Moss wasn't the only one who had a wonderful time. Here's what his humans, Julie & Mark, had to say:

Happiest 11th birthday to our youngest member of the Millbrook team, Louie. He loves to welcome guests and help how ever he can and absolutely loves our four legged guests too!

September has clearly decided it's not quite finished with summer yet… ☀️🌿

And, rather conveniently, Rose Cottage has had a couple of little gaps appear in the diary. 👀

Think long baths in that copper tub, lazy mornings, your own private hot tub and absolutely no reason to be anywhere in a hurry.

And the best bit about September? Devon is still beautiful… just with considerably fewer small people carrying buckets and spades. 😂

Sometimes last minute is the best kind of plan. ❤️

🐾 Dog Friendly Fridays: The Dog Field

Kicking off a new series on why Millbrook Cottages is such a good spot for dogs (and their humans).

First up — our dog field. Over an acre, fully sheep-netted, so your dog can have a proper off-lead run without you worrying about the sheep next door or the road. Don’t forget our nature trail too!

It’s part of what makes us properly dog friendly, not just dog tolerant. Lakeview and Wheel Room both welcome up to two dogs, so if you’re planning a break away with your four-legged friends, we’ve got the space (and the field) for them to enjoy it too.
