You don’t always know where you’re heading and that’s part of the magic.

The Road Less Travelled was exactly that a winding lane out of Choppards that I took without much thought. It curved just enough to hide what was ahead and in that moment, it felt right.

That’s what painting is, sometimes: trusting your feet and your instinct. And if it leads to silence and a vast open sky all the better.

After careful consideration and due to a combination of personal circumstances affecting members of the organising team, the Holmfirth Artweek Committee has made the necessary and important decision not to hold the main Holmfirth Artweek exhibition at the Civic Hall in 2027.

Instead, we will be focusing our energy on continuing to deliver and develop the Holmfirth Artweek Fringe which will continue in 2027.

While 2027 will be a year of transition, our ambition is to return in 2028 with a stronger, more sustainable, and future-focused Holmfirth Artweek. Over the coming months, we will be working behind the scenes to review, develop and strengthen the event for the years ahead.

To help shape Holmfirth Artweek’s future, we would greatly value your feedback.
