Well, this is really very exciting - just arrived from Tain l’Hermitage, three wooden crates containing our new Le Panyol wood-fired oven. We’ll have to wait a bit for installation, while necessary building works are carried out, but hopefully it won’t be too many months now before the bakery is reborn 🤞. Thanks to Le Panyol for a fabulous bit of kit and to the estimable Paul Merry for overseeing the ordering and delivery process!

Haven’t been to Launceston for a while, so I was very pleasantly surprised to find this coffee shop-cum-vinyl shop right by the town gatehouse. Managed to come away with Bob’s latest multi-disc compilation. And the coffee and cake were excellent too. Thank you

Huge thanks to Emile and Julia from Exeter University’s Moth Virome Project, who set up a moth trap in our orchard last night and found an extraordinary abundance and variety of the things. Among them are poplar hawk, elephant hawk, bear moth, large emerald and rosy footman. The buff-tail, which looks like a bit of twig, was certainly a new one for us!
