Just an update on a project we have just completed in Gateshead.

We installed a full damp-proof course on the party wall using a sand and cement waterproof render. Additionally, we fitted Isotherm insulation to the external walls to ensure surfaces remain warm and prevent black spot mould. All work was completed with a skim finish.

Just a quick update on the external render reinstatement project at an old farmhouse in Seaton.

Removing all of the original render was a significant challenge. Once the old render was removed, we replaced the wooden lintel above the front door with a concrete one. We also had to patch in a few bricks before applying the new roughcast render.

The finished work has completely transformed the property.

We have recently completed a project at a school in Washington. The scope of work involved hacking off all walls up to 1.8 meters and applying a flexible membrane to ensure a complete waterproof barrier. We then undercoated some walls with a bonding coat and plaster boarded others, followed by a full wall reskim to complete the job.

We've completed our latest job where the client was experiencing significant black spot mould on the T-falls throughout their property. This was due to a lack of ventilation and insulation.

To address this, we installed four passyfier vents to improve airflow and insulated the T-falls with isotherm to warm the area and prevent further mould growth. We finished the job with a skim coat.

Following up on my post from last week, after the floors were treated and the sub-site was cleaned and treated, we proceeded to clean down all brickwork and concrete floor surfaces using a wire brush. We then applied fungicidal fluid to all surfaces. Some of the walls were then membraned and boarded, while others were re-plastered using a waterproof agent then skimmed.

During our inspection, we identified significant growth of the True Dry Rot Fungus (Serpula Lacrymans), with large sporophores (fruiting bodies) visible on the sub-floor brickwork and timbers in these areas. We also noted the presence of standing water in the sub-floor beneath the front lobby. Photos to follow of the work carried out.

Following up on the damp survey conducted at the block of flats in Gateshead, I wanted to share some information about a recent project we completed.

We addressed penetrating damp issues in an eighth-floor flat within the building. For this particular job, we installed a complete damp proof barrier using a flex membrane. We then completed the work with over boarding and skimming to provide a finished surface.

Just a brief overview of the work carried out on the two floors that were significantly affected by Wet Rot (Coniophora puteana) Also Infestation by Wood Boring Weevil was present.

Both floors were completely stripped back to the bare structure due to the timber damage. We then installed new floor joists, ensuring they were fully isolated from any masonry to prevent future issues. Finally, we completed the restoration by laying a brand new floor.

Following our investigation into the water ingress in the bathroom on the first floor, which appeared to be caused by defective render on the exterior wall, we uncovered a further issue. The lintel above the window was found to be completely rotten and required replacement.

This lintel repair is necessary to ensure the structural integrity and to properly prepare the area before we can re-render the wall and effectively resolve the water ingress.

We wanted to share a quick update on our latest damp proofing project. The work involved fully hacking off the affected area, installing a chemical Damp Proof Course (DPC), applying a waterproof render undercoat, and completing it with a skim finish.

We're pleased to report that the project is now finished, and we have another satisfied client.
