We popped into Hand:Plant located on Ilfracombe High Street.
A treasure trove of art for the home, including pictures, pottery, mosaics. They run art classes and teach children under sponsorship to give them opportunities. The artwork of these children is proudly displayed on a wall.
The shop is located about a five minute walk from Saltwater Pearl, making a great location on a wet day or any day if you are feeling creative!

North Devon Hospice Nightwalk 16 May 2026

A soggy start at 7.30pm turned into a beautiful evening walking 10 miles along the Tarka Trail with the lovely Helen Keddie. 3.5 hours later and we were were chilling with a cuppa and lemon cake at the finish line - which may I add could be seen for miles, as Taw Bridge was lit up in pink. A beautifully organised fundraising event for over 1,000 participants.

Back down to Ilfracombe last night for the North Devon Hospice 10 mile walk tonight.
But first, an exquisite addition to Saltwater Pearl! Bought last weekend on the Art Trail from Lesley’s Sea on Glass, this beautiful picture made from coloured glass collected from Saunton Sands beach has found a home in our we’ll equipped modern kitchen.

We spent yesterday on the Ilfracombe Art Trail. It seems that Ilfracombe is a fantastic community.
I met some very talented and super friendly locals yesterday.
The owner of Kin Wellness on Runnacleave Crescent turned out be a ex-neighbour to our holiday let Saltwater Pearl on Horne Rd. She now has 20 practitioners working on a need-only basis from her beautiful clinic providing a whole range of treatments.

Spent a glorious walking the stunning coastal path from Ilfracombe to Woolacombe followed by a latte and very welcome paddle in the sea. Not only did we see a cows and calves, sheep and lambs, we saw seals at Morte point. Just the best day with my lil’ sister!! ☀️😎❤️

ILFRACOMBE ART TRAIL 9 & 10 May 10am-5pm

As the summer season begins to heat up and not just in temperature! There is no shortage of special events lined up in Ilfracombe.
We are very excited to be travelling down this weekend for the annual (10 year anniversary) Ilfracombe Art Trail. Our first!
If the jointly owned (four artists) The Pier Gallery on Ilfracombe Harbour is anything to go by, we will be in for a very special treat.
The event covers numerous areas of the artworld including photography, sculptures, ceramics, jewellery and printmaking in various venues, including the Landmark Theatre, The Chocolate Emporium on the High Street and private homes and gardens.
There are also workshops for you to have a go, some are free, some ask for a small charge to cover costs.
