This Sunday its the Grand Supreme Final of the WORLD Sheep Dog Trials a short distance from us here at Cleikum Mill Lodge at Lauder (20 miles away.)

Four days of world-class competition by the most highly skilled handlers and dogs in the world, alongside a countryside experience that’s worth travelling for and is ending Sunday.

Rural skills demos, a speed shear, local crafts, farming stars, great food and drink and a welcoming atmosphere in the beautiful Scottish Borders countryside.

We have availbility Sunday night if you wish to stay here in the Tweed Valley Forest Park

The weekend of 30th /31st October is now available, due to a recent late cancelation.

A busy start to the week with a checkout of riders riding Lands End to John O Groats and checking in riders on the Coast And Castles bike route which ends in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile Mrs Cleikum Mill Lodge attended the Scottish Borders Walking Festival with a well organized guided walk - it was so good she promises to show me round at a suitable time in the future. Some pictures from her walk in the Scottish Borders here.
The walking festival ends on 12th September and is an annual event in the area with group walks for all abilities.

Pack the gravel or mountain bike and come and have a go at some cyclocross. at the Donkey Sanctuary later this year. I did this event last year its friendly and a fun event and my wife loved watching/laughing as i rode like a Donkey!
Races for all ages groups/ ladies and mens races.
I hope to attend again if the guest booking diary makes it possible and use my gravel bike.
Smiles guaranteed.

Our first "cargo" bike ( and horse) arrived today in our bike store. It is being ridden by 14 year old Hazel with( her toy horse on the front) to raise money with sponsorship. (See comments. )
The Ariel cargo bike she is riding is handbuilt in Scotland by her father Tim who builds and supply's handbuilt Ariel cargo bikes made in the South of Scotland.
He is accompanying her on her coast to coast journey from Solway Firth to Edinburgh and the Forth.

If you see them depart tomorrow morning give them a toot and cheer as they depart to ride on to Edinburgh.
