Pinewood has captivating and uninterrupted views over the Beauly Firth, across to Ben Wyvis, Strathfarrar and beyond - on a clear day you can see the mountains of Torridon. A great location for the nature lover too, with so many wild birds in the garden, pheasants, and look out for red squirrels! Pinewood Steading sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom is particularly large with king-size bed and a cathedral window; second bedroom with two twins or one superking. The sitting room has a log burner; with a breakfast bar leading into the large, well equipped kitchen with a view overlooking the rolling countryside down to the Beauly Firth. The garden is enclosed with the most stunning uninterrupted views for miles. Dogs are very welcome at no extra charge. We also hold a Gold Award for Green Tourism. By being here, you are ideally situated for exploring the stunning Highlands of Scotland - Glen Affric, considered the most beautiful Glen in Scotland, is only a short drive, as is Strathconon and Strathfarrar and Loch Ness is only 5 miles away. There are wonderful walks from the door and nearby like Reelig Wood and Abriachan too. For outdoor enthusiasts, as well as all the walking and munro bagging, you can ski, canoe and kayak, rock climb and mountain bike. For tourist attractions, take a cruise on Loch Ness and visit Urquhart Castle. If you like history, visit Culloden Battlefield and Fort William. You could spend a whole day on the Black Isle - Chanonry point for dolphin watching, visit the port of Cromarty, sample some beer at the Black Isle Brewery, or take a walk along the beach at Rosemarkie. For hitting the city, Inverness, is a 20 minute drive away, with all it's shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, leisure facilities, Eden Court Theatre, Inverness castle and museum. There are even lovely walks in the city, so plan a stroll around the Ness Islands. Thank you to our guests for allowing us to share these wonderful photos of their fluff family having a great time on their holiday. Siryn and Tabi are now joined by Brian! So far, they've enjoyed some local walks, as well as a trip to Loch Migdale, Assynt and Easan Dorcha (Torridon) - and great weather too!

It's always amazing to welcome these regular guests back. And to showcase their annual dog family photo up at nearby Abriachan, from 2021 to 2026. This year their favourite 'rock' has been replaced by a bench and a new addition to the family, Brian, came too!

We were so thrilled to welcome the Fab Four back to Pinewood for yet another holiday. They have been coming for many years now, and so many of our page followers watch out for us posting their photos. So we wouldn't want to disappoint! So here is a selection showing Gideon, Luca, Matilda and Elvis enjoying the surrounds of the Steading. We look forward to seeing them again in March next year!

We were so thrilled to be included in a blog from EmbraceScotland on 'A Taste of Scotland Through Local Recommendations'. We sat alongside 3 other wonderful self-catering providers; ours was called 'From the Garden to the Welcome Basket'. We got to recommend our local welcome basket suppliers and also our favourite local cafe, Wild Gorse Kitchen. Check out the blog on

Finding time to catch up on some of our recent trips out and about. Firstly, a walk over at Shandwick on the NE coast. Great place to sea swim, then a lovely coastal walk. Can make this a big walk but we did 3 miles out and then back. Next up, a walk at Silverbridge near Garve. Amazing river and series of waterfalls coupled with some foraging. And then finally, a 10 mile loop walk in Strathconnon to a remote loch for a dip. Experiencing such stunning landscapes here and a real feeling of remoteness

We've been taking advantage of some breaks in the weather and doing a few trips further afield. The other day we headed up towards Ullapool, turned left at Braemar Junction and onto Dondonnel where we walked up the Ardessie Falls. After touring through Glen Oykle, we ended up at the Falls of Shin. Well worth a visit to see leaping salmon, enjoy the well built paths and savour the goodies and cake in the cafe.

Ooh, we have exciting news! Something to add to our ongoing green/sustainable/eco-friendly journey 🌿

We are pleased to announce that we have recently installed a new pay-as-you-go smart charging point at Pinewood Steading to provide a much needed convenience and service to our guests. EV drivers looking to visit us now never need to worry about running out of charge or stopping over at in-transit rapid charging points before arrival; no more range anxiety!

The charging point is powered by and is compatible with all modern electric vehicles. As part of their commitment, VoltShare has also offset 400kg of eCO2 per charging point installed.

The charge point is for the exclusive use of our guests. The connection is untethered, type 2, with maximum power output of 7.2kW.

We are excited to be part of the zero-emission revolution, promoting clean transport and healthier skies 😍

Catching up on a couple of recent reviews. We are so grateful for these. They are 1st hand accounts from our guests, new and old, of life in the Steading, the peacefulness and views, the area around us of places to visit and scenery to see, of places the dogs love going, and of the small businesses that our guests visit and support. Thank you for coming and thank you for taking the time to share your experiences 🥰🫶🙏

Wow, has it really been that long since we popped up a post on here - we need to blame the amazing weather as it's meant everything in the garden and polytunnel has popped and bloomed and we've been spending so much time tending to the veg and fruits, that there's not been much time for Facebook!

Here's a few photos of how the garden and poly is looking at the moment. We love to be able to provide our guests with such wonderful fresh and homegrown products.

At the moment, we've lettuces of all sorts, courgettes, 1st and 2nd early potatoes (yummy!), spinach, kale, onions, lots of herbs, 2 types of strawberries, and red and black currants.

Still to come, or growing in rotation, are more lettuces, tomatoes (hundreds of them!), broad beans, cucumber, mange tout, peppers, chillis, pak choi, carrots, beetroot and autumn raspberries. Phew! Hard work, but all worth it!
