Another lovely guestbook review at Little Thistle! 💜

We absolutely love reading the messages our guests leave behind, and this latest one really made us smile! 🥰

No beautiful illustrations in the guestbook this time, but certainly some beautiful words!

Our latest guests confessed that handing back the keys was rather difficult, having imagined multiple scenarios in which they could make Little Thistle their permanent home! 🏡😂

Describing it as a “cosy little abode in the middle of the most beautiful landscapes,” they also had some lovely words for our hospitality and, of course, Bertie & Angus, who clearly made quite an impression! 🐾❤️

Knowing that our guests feel so comfortable and at home here really does mean the world to us. It’s exactly the experience we hope to create for everyone who stays.

We’re delighted they’re already planning their next visit…

And as much as we love having them, we’re rather relieved they did eventually hand back the keys! 😂🔑

A lovely message to wake up to at Little Thistle!

There’s something rather special about opening the guest book after guests have left and finding a message like this. 🥰

Our latest guests, Felix & Louisa from Dortmund, chose Little Thistle for a very special trip — to celebrate their engagement! 💍❤️

They wrote:

“We couldn’t have wished for a more beautiful place to celebrate our engagement! The view and the cabin are absolutely magical and made our stay very special. We loved every minute here and the music selection was spot on. Thank you for the lovely memories!”

And we absolutely love their little drawing of our record player! 🎶 They clearly made good use of the vinyl collection during their stay — with a bit of Bruce Springsteen on the turntable too. ❤️

Knowing that Little Thistle has been part of such a happy memory is exactly why we love welcoming guests here.

We’ve given our Little Thistle Apartment welcome pack a little refresh ✨

We wanted it to feel just as warm, personal and thoughtful as the apartment itself, so our new guest guide is packed with everything you might need during your stay — from useful apartment information and local recommendations to places to eat, things to see, Highland adventures and a few of our own favourite spots.

You’ll also find a little introduction to our four resident dogs — Bertie, Angus, Elsie and Gertie — plus some fun facts about the complimentary Scottish treats waiting in your welcome hamper. 💜

We hope it helps our guests settle in, feel at home and make the very most of their time here in the Highlands.

We’ve had some wonderful guest reviews, but never one like this.

One comes along that completely takes our breath away. Our recent guests from China didn’t just leave us a lovely message in our guest book, they left us a piece of art. Alongside the most beautifully written review in both English and Chinese, They created these stunning manga style sketches inspired by their stay. Loch Ness in the mist and even a majestic Highland stag, proud outside our little retreat. After translating their words, one line that stayed with us was “The meaning of travel is to witness this magnificent world, receive love from it, and also send your own love back to it.” We will never forget that. TR and YL, thank you for choosing us.

Thank you for your creativity, and for leaving behind something we’ll treasure forever. We hope the road brings you back to the Highlands.

The guest book that keeps on giving! 🐾

Another absolutely lovely entry from one of our recent little guests at Little Thistle — and this one really made us smile. 🥰

Agostino clearly had a wonderful time, especially when it came to playing with the dogs! 🐶❤️ He not only left us a lovely message in the guest book, but also drew this fantastic picture of Little Thistle, the dogs and his holiday in his own art book.

We absolutely love seeing Little Thistle through the eyes of our younger guests — and it looks like the dogs have definitely stolen the show again!

And talking of the wildlife… there are lots of deer around the house at the moment, who seem to have made themselves part of the daily welcome committee! 🦌🦌 They regularly appear around the house for our guests to enjoy.

Agostino’s message is written in Italian, and unfortunately our Italian isn’t quite good enough to translate it properly! 🇮🇹

Can anyone help us translate it? We’d love to know exactly what he’s written. ❤️

This year we’ve been lucky enough to welcome some absolutely lovely guests to Little Thistle, and our guest book has been filling up with the most wonderful reviews. 💜

The dogs have been getting quite a few mentions too… so much so that I’m starting to think they deserve their own social media page! 😂🐾

We love hearing stories like this!

Our recent guests all the way from New Zealand originally booked three nights at Little Thistle Apartment while attending a beautiful farm wedding nearby. But they were having such a lovely time that they decided to extend their stay by another two nights!

They’ve now promised to return, not just for weddings but for a proper holiday.

And how lovely—they said if we’re ever in New Zealand, we must look them up! It’s these kinds of connections that make hosting so special. We can’t wait to welcome them back for their next adventure 😍
