We are very excited about this opportunity with John Colver Tours and appreciate this post !
I spent this past week in the Cairngorms National Park with hosts Elsbeth and Gavin from the Loch Garten Lodges, where we are holding our inaugural United Kingdom Camino & hiking training camp this autumn.
We chose this place for so many reasons, not least the wonderful hospitality from our hosts and partners, plus the wildlife, the nature, and the remarkable feeling of being both close to the mountains and in the ancient Scots Pine forest which blankets the area.
I hope you enjoy the pictures & clips. Our training camp involves mainly travel on foot, with some kakak/canoe/paddle board for fun as well. I used a bike this time too, mainly to cover some extra group and explore the many miles of trails. We are literally spoilt for choices up here as there are so many beautiful and wild trails.
You can check out the training camp on the Refugio page, it’s in September and again next June. However - The Loch Garten Lodges are open year-round and if you ever venture to the Scottish Highlands and love nature with peace and comfort - this is the place to put on the top of your list on any Scotland/UK visit. In fact we’re proud to share that this year Loch Garten Lodges were recommended as one of the one of the UKs seven cosiest woodland cabins in the United Kingdom by The London Times.
We agree with the Times - it’s a wonderful sanctuary and place to get away.
