Something very big is heading for Inverness this weekend.

A record 11,100 runners from 45 countries are coming to the Highlands for a completely sold out Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running, with a record 6,000 taking on the full 26.2 miles from near Fort Augustus to Inverness.

Thousands more will tackle the 10K and 5K, while 300 tiny runners have their own date with Wee Nessie.

Behind every race number there will be a story, and this weekend the Highlands will be full of them.
