A lot of work went into these Tobermore Retro sets but how good do they look…..? 😍 They really compliment the house and once the decorative stone goes in the border it’ll look even better!

It’s been a very busy 2 weeks on our own new build project. Thankfully we’re out of the ground now. Foundations and drainage all in and ready to concrete the floors tomorrow!

6 months to the day since I was on the digger excavating the foundations and today the first of the floor screed went down! First two pics are the same view 6 months apart!
House now watertight, stud walls upstairs done and the rest of the screed going down tomorrow! All ready for first fix plumbing and electrics then plaster boarding in January 💪

Had a few days away from the big new build this week to alter this doorway. The old lintel wasn’t up to the job and had dropped and it was also to make more than a meter wider. Absolute nightmare to get the new steel in because the engineer had too much coffee and designed something that would hold up the Empire State Building but I’ve not been beaten yet! All built back up and made secure ready for the bi-fold doors to be measured. More steels fitted inside where I removed a wall ready for a new open plan kitchen/diner!

What a crazy couple of weeks! After the main scaffold came down last week it was straight onto the drains. Drains done we were able to get the scaffold up for the two lower roofs. Timber work completed on these, then the windows turned up. This allowed me to get the flooring laid upstairs and make a start with the stud walls! Roofers were back today so they’ll be finished next week in time for the sunroom glazing and the remaining windows/doors to be installed the following week! It’s all coming together!

First peek 👀
The lads from Contract Scaffolding were on site for a few hours today to strip the first side of this beast of a house!
Bit of drying out to do but it’s looking 👌!
Be better again when the barn is taken down!
Hopefully the rest will be stripped tomorrow so I can get the two lower roofs fitted then the windows won’t be far away 😁

Absolutely manic couple of weeks working using up every bit of daylight, but the big push has paid off and this big one is finally ready for the lid to go on next week! This should free up a good bit of inside work for the winter!

It’s been absolutely manic lately so I’ve not had much time for pictures. Making progress on a big new build and also demolishing and crushing our own bungalow to make way for a new home as well as other smaller jobs in between!
Time for a week of recharging in Spain now
✈️☀️😎🏝️🍺😴😴 Adios!
