Hedges cutting season is well and truly here! Now autumn is upon us the hedge growth is starting to slow, nesting birds have left and it’s the ideal time to get them looking neat and under control once again.

This was a tough one! A lot of earth moved into a another new bed area, then a gravel area using Cotswold stone to have a nice place to put the bins on the road, and finally a lovely alpine rockery for both the lovely look in brings to the slope, and to shore up the slope.

The alpine flowers will love the shale and well drained soil, combined with the full sun/complete shade the area receives being south facing.

Big day pulling out a couple very established Weigela shrubs and a Lonicera Hedgerow.

Very hard work, digging all day long, but a satisfying result. The friendly customers in Plympton are looking to increase the size of their driveway and needed the shrubs gone.

Big hedge reduction for a house near Ivybridge, the Lonicera was very overgrown and has started to collapse under its own weight, a heavy reduction on the roadside took about a quarter of the weight off, with a trim and tidy to the other side and top and it’s much more stable!

The hedge will have lovely green shoots back in a few months and will be looking lovely 😄
