The South of Scotland is ideal for stargazing. On clear nights, over 7,000 stars can be seen with the naked eye! There is no where else in the world we'd rather be!

Walk the Farm, Hear the Story, Taste the Shepherds Pie!

Come for a walk around Bairnkine, take in the views, listen to the birds and discover a little more about life on our working farm. Then sit down with us to enjoy a homemade shepherd’s pie, made with produce from the farm.

Just four miles south of Jedburgh, Bairnkine is an organic farm where we have worked hard to farm alongside nature. Over the years, we’ve planted native trees, miles of hedgerows and wildflower areas, creating space for wildlife and helping to protect and enhance the landscape around us.

This experience is about more than just a walk and a meal. We’ll share the story of Bairnkine, our approach to farming and what it’s like to live and work on a family farm.

Come for the food, walk for the story, and experience a little piece of farm life with our family.

It's Friday, and Farm Stay Cosy Baking is back with Recipe No. 3, and this one comes all the way from the Scottish Borders.

Lucy at The Bairnkine has shared her traditional Scottish Oatcake recipe, made on her organic family farm in Jedburgh.

Here's what you'll need:
🌾 Scottish oats
🧈 Butter
🧂 Salt, sugar & bicarbonate of soda
💧 Recently boiled water

These big boys were in at the weekend as we were checking them over. We think they look quite majestic with their horns, however they are great escape artists too!

October holidays are just round the corner and there is still some availability in Owl Cottage. Sleeping 6 and with 2 dogs allowed this cottage is great for a family or someone wishing to escape with their furry friends! There is alaso a games room with pool table, dartboard and table footbal. Great for those with a competitive streak!
