🌾 In the last week, there has been further developments to agricultural support in Scotland concerning BPS and FFIS.

Basic Payment Scheme Update - The first of the 2026 BPS Payment letters were issued last week. Although only a small number of claimants have been paid so far.

Delays caused by Future Farm Investment Scheme - Many successful FFIS 2025 claimants are still awaiting verification of their claim, and as such will not be eligible for BPS payments at present despite submitting their evidence in advance. We are raising this issue with the Scottish Government directly, as it taints desire for future FFIS rounds.

Scottish Suckler Beef Support Scheme (SSBSS) - It has been confirmed that the calving interval requirement for the SSBSS will remain unchanged in 2027.

🌱 2025 Future Farm Investment Round

Claims under the 2025 FFIS round have been extended to 30th September.

Successful claimants in 2025 must submit Geotagged photos, financial evidence and written justifications for the funds received last December by this date. Items must be completed and fully installed before claims can be submitted.

It is worth noting that any BPS payments due will be withheld until a claimants outstanding FFIS claims have been processed - We are seeing this week that claimants who submitted their evidence early summer still have not been processed and are therefore not eligible to receive their BPS payments, therefore those only now submitting evidence will likely have a significantly longer wait for future payments.
