Located in Somerset's Quantock Hills, England's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the south west's least known wilderness, Pardlestone Farm is also just 1.5 miles from the Jurassic coast at Kilve Beach. Offering rural B&B and a two bedroom, dog-friendly, self-catering holiday cottage, visitors are welcome to bring their own horses (we have stabling and turnout), we have ample par

🐴🏠🐾🐕🐮 WANTED: HOUSE-SITTER! 🐴🏠🐾🐕🐮

Many of our Pardlestone Farm guests will know our daughter, Freya, so we’re posting this on our page for her. Hope it appeals to someone!

I’m looking for a reliable person to house sit for approximately 3 weeks in September/October at a very rural property in North Wales.
Daily animal care is involved, so livestock experience is essential. The property is in a remote location and would suit somebody practical and independent who enjoys peace, quiet and could see this as a secluded break away. It would also suit those working from home as we have fibre broadband.
For the horsey people who follow this page, there may also be the option for the right person to bring a horse (or horses) with them while they stay. We’re very much rough-and-ready hill country, but the riding from here is absolutely fantastic, straight out into the hills of Snowdonia/Eryri.
I won’t post the dates or location for obvious reasons.

It’s always shady in Somerset’s legendary combes and particularly magical when the dappled light shines through the trees. I’ve loved riding with our guests this sunny weekend – enjoying the gentle breeze on the hills just as much as the cool of the Quantocks’ mossy valleys. 🌳 🐴

Unusually, we have two last-minute gaps in our bookings at Pardlestone Farm this month – four days from either Monday 17th or Monday 31st August in our two-bedroomed cottage.

That’s our only availability until mid-November, so if you’d like to come, do get in touch now! The price for these stays has been heavily discounted to £435 for up to four people but please phone or message to have the published price reduced. Dogs and horses welcome!

One thing I always like to do before guests arrive is put a vase of fresh flowers in each cottage and B&B bedroom 💐

Most of them come straight from our own garden, and sometimes our lovely neighbours bring us beautiful flowers from theirs too. (Thank you Sandie Fenech!)

It’s a simple little tradition that’s become part of welcoming guests to Pardlestone Farm. 🌸

At Pardlestone Farm, your horse is just as welcome as you are.

Every stay has the option of secure stabling and grazing, with parking for horse boxes and trailers too. Better still, you can see your horses in the surrounding paddocks, so they’re always close by.

From our front gate, you can ride straight onto Somerset’s breathtaking Quantock Hills. Miles of open moorland, ancient woodland, hidden combes and some of the most spectacular riding in the westcountry is quite literally on your doorstep. No loading up. No driving to a hacking spot. Just saddle up and go.

And yes… your dogs are welcome too. 🐾

NEW AVAILABILITY THIS WEEKEND IN SOMERSET COTTAGE!

One of our guests due to stay at PARDLESTONE FARM THIS WEEKEND has sadly had to cancel at the last minute due to a poorly horse, now receiving veterinary attention. So, if anyone would like to stay in Groom’s Cottage it is now available from Friday 17 July until Monday 20 July. The accommodation price has just been reduced to £395 – that’s an absolute bargain for up to four people sleeping in two double bedrooms for three nights. Horses and dogs are also welcome! And the weather forecast looks glorious – 23/24 degrees on Sat and Sun!

Pardlestone Farm is perfectly located for riding, walking or mountain biking in Somerset’s Quantock Hills, or simply enjoying all the beautiful West Somerset area has to offer – from pretty harbours and castles to picture-postcard villages and England’s longest heritage steam train line. It is also within walking distance of an award-winning, dog-friendly pub and the fossil-rich beach in Kilve.

Groom’s Cottage is a cool haven, overlooking the yard and stables, so guests with horses can see them from the house and garden. On the Quantocks, the heather is in flower and grassy gallops on the hill tops lead down into shady, fern-clad combes, where sparking streams twist and tumble towards picture-postcard villages, cafés and pubs.

The Pony Barn is the perfect little escape for couples, friends or small families looking to swap the rush of everyday life for fresh air and beautiful views across the Quantock Hills.

Sleeping up to four guests, The Pony Barn offers a flexible master bedroom (king or twin beds), a comfortable sofa bed, a fully equipped self-catering kitchen and a private, dog-friendly enclosed courtyard for those sunny morning coffees or evening glasses of wine.

Bring your walking boots, come with your dogs or even bring your horse. With safe stabling and turnout available on site, you can ride straight from the farm onto the Quantock Hills and we’re always happy to help plan the perfect route.
