Replacing an old, dangerous set of concrete steps, this new rustic, stone-faced set of bidirectional steps and seating area will weather over time and blend in well with the stone barns in this rural setting. The steps provide much easier access to a new seating area, surrounded by attractive planters, enabling elderly guests to easily walk around the house and to/from the rear gate. Hardy geraniums, mexican fleabane, carex grasses and climbing rosa 'Iceberg' will soften and add colour to this new courtyard over time.

A mature olive tree provides a wonderfully relaxing focal point next to the new spacious dining patio. Slate walling adds texture to the new garden and combines well with the contemporary horizontal slatted screen and marine wire fence which creates a greater sense of space by allowing views through the garden. Wrap-around planting will be easy to look after and will mature over time to obscure neighbouring houses.

Another low maintenance garden at a new build house in Dartmouth. Mediterranean planting and soft grey pebbles combine perfectly with the light grey porcelain patios and the steps which allow an easy transition between the separate areas for dining, evening entertaining and sun-bathing.
