🤦🏼‍♀️ And just like that… we’re closed for 24 hours! ⚡️

Just another little curveball thrown at us as small business owners! 😂

Northern Powergrid have told us the electricity will be off tomorrow from 9am–6pm, which unfortunately affects both check-out tomorrow morning and check-in from 3pm tomorrow afternoon.

Luckily, we’re in charge of our own calendar and we had enough notice to adjust the booking and make alternative arrangements… but still! 🤦🏼‍♀️

There’s always so much going on behind the scenes — bookings, changeovers, cleaning, laundry, messages, maintenance and making sure everything is ready for our guests… and then a power cut gets thrown into the mix! 😂

So Pretty View Cottage will be closed for 24 hours while the work takes place.

One thing about running a small business… you definitely need to be good at juggling! 📅🧹🧺📞😂

Hopefully the power is back on by 6pm and it’ll be business as usual again. 🤞🏼⚡️

What a weekend East Yorkshire has in store! 👀 If you haven't sorted your plans yet, here are a few ideas to get you started:

🏁 Race the Waves returns to Bridlington South Beach with vintage cars, hot rods and motorcycles racing against the tide, plus the Ken Fox Wall of Death and tank rides. Completely free to watch.

⚙️ Running alongside it, the Great Bridlington Steampunk Weekend transforms the Royal Hall at Bridlington Spa into a brilliant celebration of creativity and vintage style, also completely free!

🥾 The Walking East Yorkshire Festival also kicks off this weekend with a fantastic programme of guided walks across the region, many of which are free.

🏛️ And don't forget Heritage Open Days continues until 20th September, giving you the chance to explore some of East Yorkshire's most fascinating historic buildings and hidden spaces, again all completely free!
